This page shows the Hanasaki Line section of the JR Nemuro Main Line, the easternmost line in Japan.

There are no limited express trains running from Kushiro to Nemuro, and there are a total of eight round trips between rapid trains and local trains. Because deer often appear along the line, the Kiha 54 diesel trains that travel along this section are equipped with deer whistles. The maximum speed of trains in this section is 95km/h.

こちらのページでは、日本最東端の路線である、JR根室本線の花咲線区間を紹介します。

釧路から根室までは特急列車が走っておらず、快速列車と普通列車が合計８往復走る区間となっています。沿線ではたびたび鹿が出没するため、この区間を走行するキハ54形気動車には鹿笛が装備されています。なお、この区間の列車の最高速度は95km/hです。

All trains stop at Akkeshi Station. There are two regular trains that return to Kushiro Station at this station, and the remaining six round trips head to Nemuro. Akkeshi is a fishing port town with a thriving coastal fishing and aquaculture industry, and is particularly famous for its oyster production. Akkeshi Town is also promoted as "a town of flowers, taste, and history,'' and you can see cherry blossoms in the spring and purple irises in full bloom in the primeval flower garden in the summer. The nickname "Hanasaki Line" comes from the word "flowers bloom''.

厚岸駅ではすべての列車が停車します。この駅で釧路駅へ折り返す普通列車が２往復設定されていて、残りの６往復の列車は根室へ向かいます。厚岸は漁港を備えた街で、沿岸漁業と養殖業が盛んで、特にカキの生産で有名です。また、厚岸町は「花と味覚と歴史のまち」として宣伝しており、春は桜、夏は原生花園に咲き誇る紫色のアヤメを見ることができます。花咲線、という愛称は花が咲く、という言葉が由来です。

The train runs through wetlands from Akkeshi to Nemuro. Some local trains pass through Bettoga Station, Konbumori Station, and Nishiwada Station, so be careful when using these stations.

厚岸から根室までは湿原の中を列車は走行します。別当賀駅、昆布盛駅、西和田駅では、一部の普通列車が通過するのでこれらの駅を利用する際には注意が必要です。

Higashi-Nemuro Station is the easternmost station in Japan. Rapid trains run the 135.4km section from Kushiro to Nemuro in 2 hours 11 to 26 minutes, and local trains run 2 hours 22 to 46 minutes.

Nemuro is the easternmost city in Japan with a population of approximately 25,000 people. This city is also famous for its seafood such as crabs and saury. The rapid train "Nosap'' is the name of the easternmost cape in Japan, excluding remote islands, located within Nemuro City. There is no airport in Nemuro, and most people use Nakashibetsu Airport, which is located about 50 km northwest of Nemuro. Nakashibetsu Airport also has direct flights from Tokyo Haneda Airport.

Lastly, I would like to introduce the timetable of the Nemuro Main Line (Hanasaki Line).

東根室駅は、日本最東端の駅です。釧路から根室までの135.4kmの区間を、快速列車は2時間11~26分、普通列車は2時間22～46分で走行します。

根室は日本で一番東にある人口約２万人の都市です。この都市もカニやサンマなどの海産物で有名です。快速「ノサップ」号の「ノサップ」は、根室市内にある離島を除いた日本で最東端にある岬の名前です。根室には空港はなく、根室から北西に約50kmの場所に位置する中標津空港を利用するのが一般的です。中標津空港は、東京羽田空港からも直行便が出ています。
