Tasmania is an island located in the southeastern part of the Australian continent, and is part of the Australian state of Tasmania. Tasmania's railways use 1,067mm Cape Gauge and have a network of routes connecting major cities. It is operated by TasRail of Tasmania states and operates freight trains for cement, coal, logs, containers, etc. Passenger trains are not in operation except for heritage railways.

Tasmania es una isla situada en la parte sureste del continente australiano, y forma parte del estado australiano de Tasmania. Los ferrocarriles de Tasmania utilizan el ancho del Cabo de 1.067 mm y tienen una red de rutas que conectan las principales ciudades. Es operado por TasRail de los estados de Tasmania y opera trenes de carga para cemento, carbón, troncos, contenedores, etc. Los trenes de pasajeros no están en funcionamiento, excepto los ferrocarriles patrimoniales.

The Western Line is one of Tasmania's main trunk lines, connecting Burnie in the northwest of the island, via Devonport, and Launceston in the northeast.
Burnie is the closest city to the Australian continent and has a port that mainly exports timber. From Burnie Station, the Melba Line, which leads to the mine, branches off. The train follows a coastal route between Burnie and Devonport. There is a station along this route called Penguin.
Devonport is a city in the north of Tasmania and is Tasmania's largest trading port. Ferries to Melbourne operate from the port of Devonport. The section from Devonport to Launceston goes inland and the train runs through forest.
At Western Junction, south of Launceston, the Southern Line branches off to the south. The final stop is Launceston, Tasmania's second most populous city, with rail tracks leading to the Tramway Museum. From Newstead station, Launceston's freight yard, the Belle Bay line branches north. This line connects Launceston and Georgetown and was built to transport logs for export. Currently, only container transport is carried out on this route.

ローンセストンの南にあるウェスタンジャンクションでは、南へ南部鉄道線が分岐します。終点のローンセストンはタスマニア島で2番目に人口の多い都市で、トラムウェイ・ミュージアムへとつながる線路があります。ローンセストンの貨物ヤードであるニューステッド駅からは北へベル・ベイ線が分岐します。この路線はローンセストンとジョージタウンを結ぶ路線で、輸出用の丸太を運搬するために建設されました。現在この路線ではコンテナ輸送のみが行われています。
La Línea Occidental es una de las principales líneas troncales de Tasmania y conecta Burnie en el noroeste de la isla, a través de Devonport y Launceston en el noreste.
Burnie es la ciudad más cercana al continente australiano y cuenta con un puerto que exporta principalmente madera. Desde la estación Burnie se bifurca la línea Melba, que conduce a la mina. El tren sigue una ruta costera entre Burnie y Devonport. Hay una estación a lo largo de esta ruta llamada Penguin.

The Southern Line is about 200km line that runs from Western Junction to Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, and currently runs freight trains to the Brighton freight terminal. The Fingal Line branches off from Conara Junction, and the Derwent Valley Line branches off from Brighton. In Hobart, a herritage railway is operated by the Tasmanian Transport Museum, and there have been many proposals to introduce LRT.

La Línea Sur es una línea de aproximadamente 200 kilómetros que va desde Western Junction hasta Hobart, la capital de Tasmania, y actualmente transporta trenes de carga hasta la terminal de carga de Brighton. La línea Fingal se bifurca desde Conara Junction y la línea Derwent Valley se bifurca desde Brighton. En Hobart, el Museo del Transporte de Tasmania gestiona un ferrocarril histórico y ha habido muchas propuestas para introducir el LRT.
