Vallenar is an oasis city located on the southern edge of the Atacama Desert, and there is a railway line called the Vallenar-Huasco branch along the east-west route along the Huasco River. On this line, freight rail companies "Ferronor" and "CAP Minería" transport iron ore by rail from the El Algarrobo and Los Colorados mines to the port of Huasco.
The Northern Transversal Railway in northern Chile enters the mountainous region south from the Llanos de Soto junction west of Vallenar Station. The line between Vallenar and La Serena is currently suspended.

Vallenar es una ciudad oasis ubicada en el extremo sur del desierto de Atacama, y existe una línea ferroviaria llamada ramal Vallenar-Huasco a lo largo de la ruta este-oeste a lo largo del río Huasco. En esta línea, las empresas ferroviarias de carga "Ferronor" y "CAP Minería" transportan mineral de hierro por ferrocarril desde las minas El Algarrobo y Los Colorados hasta el puerto de Huasco.

La Serena is a port city located approximately 550 km north of Santiago, and forms the La Serena metropolitan area, including the surrounding cities of Coquimbo and Guayacan. This city is the second oldest city in Chile, founded in 1544, and is a resort area with a vast Pacific beach, and is a tourist city with many historic buildings, and many tourists come from Argentina as well as Chile.
In La Serena, CAP Minería's subsidiary CMP Railway operates iron ore trains from the El Romeral mine to Guayacan. The section from the El Romeral mine to Guayacan is called the Romeral Railway.
ラ・セレナはサンティアゴから北に約550kmの位置にある港湾都市で、周辺都市のコキンボやグアヤカンを含めてラ・セレナ都市圏を形成しています。この都市は1544年に設立されたチリで2番目に古い都市で、広大な太平洋のビーチのあるリゾート地で、歴史的な建築物が数多く残る観光都市となっており、チリ以外にアルゼンチンからも多くの観光客が訪れます。

La Serena es una ciudad portuaria ubicada aproximadamente a 550 km al norte de Santiago y forma el área metropolitana de La Serena, que incluye las ciudades circundantes de Coquimbo y Guayacán. Esta ciudad es la segunda ciudad más antigua de Chile, fundada en 1544, y es una zona turística con una vasta playa del Pacífico, y es una ciudad turística con muchos edificios históricos, y muchos turistas vienen tanto de Argentina como de Chile.
