There are 3 railway lines at Narita Airport, Keisei Narita Sky Access Line(Tokyo Narita Airport～Tokyo Ueno via Chiba Newtown), Keisei Main Line(Tokyo Narita Airport～Tokyo Ueno via Funabashi), and this JR Narita Line.
The limited express "Narita Express'' connects Tokyo Narita Airport with the terminals in central Tokyo, Tokyo Station, Shinagawa Station, Shibuya Station, and Shinjuku Station, and Yokohama Station in Yokohama City without transfers. Keisei Line users need to chage trains somewhere at these stations to get there.
Fares and limited express prices are slightly higher than Keisei railway, and the "Keisei Skyliner" takes 40 minutes to travel from Narita Airport to Nippori Station in Tokyo, while the Narita Express takes 55 minutes to travel from Narita Airport to Tokyo Station. But this train provides easier access to central Tokyo than Keisei railway.

The Narita Express runs from Narita Airport to Sakura Station on the JR Narita Line, from Sakura Station to Tokyo Station on the JR Sobu Main Line, from Tokyo Station to Yokohama Station via Shinagawa on the JR Yokosuka Line (technically, the Hinkaku Freight Line of the JR Tokaido Main Line), and on the Yamanote Freight Line from Shinagawa Station to Shinjuku Station. The JR Narita Line consists of rail routes that Main Line connects Choshi, a city in eastern Chiba Prefecture, to Sakura Station via Narita Station, the Airport Branch Line that connects Narita Airport to Narita Station, and the Abiko Branch Line that connects Narita Station to Abiko Station. The Narita Express runs on the Airport Branch Line from Narita Airport Station to Narita Station at a maximum speed of 130km/h. The airport branch line uses the remains of the Narita Shinkansen (high-speed railway), the construction was canceled due to protests during its construction, and it shares the viaducts with the Keisei Narita Sky Access Line as two single tracks. Although Narita City is now a bustling airport city, it once developed as a temple town to Naritasan Shinshoji Temple. Naritasan Shinshoji Temple can be accessed on foot from JR Narita Station and Keisei Main Line Keisei Narita Station, but the "Narita Express" passes through Narita Station with the exception of some trains. The JR Sobu Main Line runs from Choshi to Tokyo Station via Naruto, Sakura, and Chiba, and the "Narita Express" runs to the JR Sobu Main Line from Sakura Station to Tokyo Station. Chiba Station, the prefectural capital of Chiba, is the starting and ending station for the JR Sotobo Line and the JR Chuo/Sobu Local Line (yellow train), and the JR Sobu Main Line has quadruple tracks in the section from Chiba Station to Kinshicho Station. The JR Chuo/Sobu Local Line branches off at Kinshicho Station and joins the Ochanomizu Branch Line, which connects directly to the JR Chuo Main Line from Ochanomizu Station. On the other hand, limited express and rapid trains enter underground from Kinshicho and head towards Tokyo Station. The JR Sobu Main Line platform at Tokyo Station is located deep underground at the west exit called "Marunouchi." Passengers can transfer to many JR lines at Tokyo Station, but it is convenient to transfer at Shinagawa Station to transfer to the JR Tokaido Main Line or Tokaido Shinkansen(High-Speed Rail).
