The Laos-China Railway is a line that connects Kunming, a large city in China's Yunnan province, to Boten, on the border with Laos. The entire line is electrified with AC 25kV 50Hz, with double track from Kunming to Xishuangbanna, and single track from Xishuangbanna to the south. Passenger trains run at a maximum speed of 160 km/h, and freight trains run at a maximum speed of 120 km/h. The gauge of the track is 1,435mm standard gauge, and direct trains run to Vientiane, the capital of Laos. The timetable as of May 2024 is posted here.

ラオス―中国鉄道は、中国 雲南省の大都市　昆明から　ラオスとの国境のボーテンまでを結ぶ路線です。全線が交流25kv 50hzで電化されていて、昆明から西双版纳(シーサンパンナ)までは複線、西双版纳(シーサンパンナ)から南側は単線です。旅客列車は最高速度160km/h、貨物列車は最高速度120km/hで走行します。線路のゲージは1,435mmの標準軌で、ラオスの首都のヴィエンチャンまで直通列車が走ります。こちらに2024年5月時点の時刻表を掲載します。

In Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, there are trains that depart from Kunming Station and Kunming South Station. Kunming South Railway Station is a terminal station with 16 platforms and 30 rail tracks, including the Shanghai-Kunming high-speed-railway, the Kunming East-Kunming South connecting railway, the Nannning- Kunming high-speed-​railway, and the Kunming–Yuxi–Hekou railway routes gather. The tracks have a junction structure that allows trains from each line to cross without interfering with trains traveling in the opposite direction.

Laos-China Railway train runs on the Kunming–Yuxi–Hekou railway until Yuxi Station. The maximum speed of the train to Yuxi Station is 200km/h.

雲南省の省都、昆明では、昆明駅始発の電車と、昆明南駅始発の電車があります。昆明南駅は16面30線のターミナル駅で、上海からの滬昆高速鉄道線と、昆明駅からの連絡線、江西チワン族自治区の南寧からの南昆高速鉄道線、そして昆玉河線の４路線が集まります。線路はそれぞれの路線から反対方向の列車の進行方向を妨害することなく交差できるジャンクションの構造になっています。

なお、ラオス鉄道は玉渓駅までは昆玉河線を走行します。玉渓駅までの列車の最高速度は200km/hです。

From Yuxi Station, the Kunming–Yuxi–Hekou railway, which goes to Hanoi in Vietnam, branches off to the east and the train joins the Yuxi–Mohan railway, which has a total length of 507.4 km. The maximum speed of trains on this route is limited to 160km/h. From here on, the train enters a mountainous area with a large population of ethnic minorities in China, and a lot of tunnels continue.

玉渓駅からはベトナムのハノイまで行く昆玉河線が東に分岐し、列車は全長507.4kmの玉磨線に入ります。この路線では列車の最高速度は160km/hに抑えられます。この先は中国の少数民族の人口の多い山岳地帯に入り、トンネルが続きます。

Pu'er Railway Station is a station in Pu'er City, famous for the production of Pu'er tea. In addition to tea, Pu'er also produces tobacco and coffee. Many ethnic minorities, mainly Burmese (Myanmar), live in this area.

プーアル駅は、プーアル茶の生産で有名なプーアル市内の駅です。プーアルではお茶の他にタバコやコーヒーの生産が行われています。この地域には主にビルマ系(ミャンマー系)の少数民族が多く暮らしています。

Xishuangbanna Station is a station in Jinghong City, with Xishuangbanna Airport just to the west. This station is located far from west of the city center. There are plans in the future to connect the west exit of this station with a passageway to Xishuangpanna Airport.

The area from Xishuangpanna to the border with Laos is called the Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, and is home to ethnic minorities, including the Dai people, who speak the Tai-Lu language, which is a branch of the Thai language. The Tai-Lu language uses a different script from both Thai and Lao. The station names in the diagram above are written in the following order: Chinese, English, Japanese, Thai, Tai-Lu, and Lao.

A non-stop train is set up from Kunming to Xishuangpanna Station, and it takes about 3 hours to cover 417km from Kunming South Station to Xishuangpanna Station.

シーサンパンナ駅は景洪市にある駅で、すぐ西側にシーサンパンナ空港があります。この駅は市の中心部からは西に離れています。将来この駅の西側の出口がシーサンパンナ空港への連絡通路と接続される計画があります。

シーサンパンナからラオスとの国境までの地域はシーサンパンナ・タイ族自治州といい、タイ語系統のタイ・ルー語を話す傣(タイ)族をはじめとした少数民族が暮らしています。タイ・ルー語ではタイ語ともラオ語とも異なる文字が使用されます。上の図の駅名表記は中国語　英語　日本語　タイ語　タイ・ルー語　ラオ語の順に表記しています。

昆明からシーサンパンナ駅まではノンストップの列車が設定されていて、昆明南駅からシーサンパンナ駅までの417kmを約3時間で走ります。

It becomes a single track from Xishuangbanna Station to Boten Station. From Boten Station, the line enters Laos and continues all the way to Vientiane, the capital of Laos. There are two round trip passenger trains connecting China and Laos.

シーサンパンナ駅からボーテン駅までは単線になります。ボーテン駅から先はラオス国内に入り、ラオスの首都　ヴィエンチャンまで線路は続きます。中国国内とラオス国内を結ぶ旅客列車は2往復設定されています。
