The Ahmedabad-Mumbai Main Line, which connects Ahmedabad with Mumbai,these are large city in southwest India, is a 498km railway line that connects Ahmedabad Junction Station and Mumbai Churchgate Station. All lines are double-tracked, and in the suburbs of Mumbai, suburban lines are added to make it quadruple-tracked. This line is electrified with AC 25kV 50hz, and passenger trains run at a maximum speed of 130km/h.
Ahmedabad is India's seventh most populous metropolis with an urban population of over 5.5 million and a metropolitan area population of over 6.3 million. The city is said to have its origins in the early 15th century when Ahmad Shah I of the Muzaffar dynasty built a fortified city there.
In Ahmedabad, trains arrive and depart from Ahmedabad Junction station. There is a triple-track section up to the second Vatva station, and most of the stations beyond Vatva that have sidings for trains. Ahmedabad Junction Station will also be connected to the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Shinkansen (high-speed railway) in the future.
インド南西部の大都市 アフメダバッドとムンバイを結ぶアフメダバッド・ムンバイ本線は、アフメダバッド・ジャンクション駅とムンバイ・チャーチゲート駅を結ぶ498kmの鉄道路線です。全線が複線で、ムンバイ近郊では郊外路線の線路が加わり複々線になっています。この路線は交流25kv 50hzで電化されていて、旅客列車は最高時速130km/hで走行します。
アフメダバッドは都市の人口が550万人以上、都市圏人口は630万人以上を抱えるインドで７番目に人口の多い大都市です。１５世紀初頭にかつてのムザッファル朝のアフマド・シャー１世がここに城塞都市を築いたことがこの都市の始まりとされています。
アフメダバッドでは、列車はアフメダバッドジャンクション駅を発着します。２つ目のヴァトヴァ駅までは３線区間になっていて、その先の駅もほとんどが列車待避用の側線を有しています。アフメダバッドジャンクション駅には、将来アフメダバッド・ムンバイ新幹線(高速鉄道)も乗り入れる予定です。

Vadodara is a metropolis located at the Delhi-Ahmedabad-Mumbai railway junction. In recent years, oil refineries, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical industries have flourished, and large-scale factories are located there.
From Makar Pura station, which is the second station from Vadodara Junction station, there is a junction to the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor. The Western Dedicated Freight Corridor runs from the outskirts of Delhi through south Ahmedabad to the port of Mumbai, running parallel to the Ahmedabad-Mumbai main line. Parts of the line are now in service, and many freight trains will likely be routed through the corridor once the entire line is open. In the corridor, freight trains can run with double stacks of containers.
ヴァドダラ―はデリー・アフメダバッド・ムンバイへの鉄道のジャンクションに位置する大都市です。近年製油所や製造業、製薬業が盛んになっていて、大規模な工場が立地しています。
ヴァドダラ―・ジャンクション駅から２つ目の駅であるマカルプラ駅からは、西部貨物専用回廊への分岐点があります。西部貨物専用回廊はデリー近郊からアフメダバッド南を通り、ムンバイの港までを結ぶ路線で、アフメダバッド・ムンバイ本線と並行しています。この路線は部分的に供用を開始しており、全線が開業すると多くの貨物列車が回廊経由になると思われます。回廊では貨物列車はコンテナを２段積みにして走行することができます。
After passing Ankleshwar Junction station, the Western Freight Dedicated Corridor joins from the west and runs parallel to the Ahmedabad-Mumbai main line. The viaduct of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Shinkansen (high-speed railway), which is under construction, overpasses between Kim and Sayan stations. The Shinkansen will use Japanese technology and will have a standard gauge of 1,435 mm instead of India's 1,676 mm.
アンクルシュワー・ジャンクション駅を過ぎると、西から西部貨物専用回廊が合流してアフメダバッド・ムンバイ本線と並行します。キム駅とサヤン駅の間では建設中のアフメダバッド・ムンバイ新幹線(高速鉄道)の高架橋がオーバーパスします。この新幹線は日本の技術が使用される予定で、ゲージはインドの1,676mmではなく標準軌の1,435mmが用いられる予定です。
Surat is India's ninth most populous port city with an urban population of over 6 million people. The textile industry, oil and natural gas industry, and manufacturing industry are thriving. The Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, which runs parallel to the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Main Line, takes a route that avoids the CBD area of Surat.
スーラトは都市圏人口を600万人以上抱えるインドで９番目に人口の多い港湾都市です。繊維産業と石油・天然ガス産業、製造業が盛んです。アフメダバッド・ムンバイ本線と並行してきた西部貨物回廊はスーラトの市街地を避けるルートを通ります。
At Bilimora Station, the narrow gauge (762mm) railway line called Bilimora Waghai Railway branches off.
ビリモラ駅では、ビリモア・ワガイ鉄道というナローゲージ(762mm)の鉄道路線が分岐します。
Near Dahanu Road station, the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor is detoured towards the east side, similar to Surat city.
ダハヌ・ロード駅付近においても、スーラト市内と同様に西部貨物回廊は山側へ迂回します。
South of Vaitarna station, the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor turns southeast. The Ahmedabad-Mumbai main line continues south to Virar station.
Virar station is the starting station for Mumbai's suburban trains, Mumbai Western Railway Line, which run on quadruple-track from this station to the last stop. Please note that suburban train cars do not have doors, so when using the train, passengers must be careful not to fall onto the tracks while the train is running.
ヴァイタルナ駅の南側で、西部貨物専用回廊は南東に向きを変えます。アフメダバッド・ムンバイ本線はそのまま南下してヴィラール駅に至ります。
ヴィラール駅はムンバイの郊外電車の始発駅で、この駅から終点まで複々線になります。なお、近郊電車の車両には扉がないので、乗客は電車を利用する際には走行中に線路に落ちないよう注意が必要です。
The suburban Central Railway Harbor Line train also startts from Goregaon Station. The number of tracks on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Main Line gradually increases from 4 to 5 to 6 to 7 to 8 as it approaches Mumbai City.
Bandra Terminal Station is a terminal station in northern Mumbai that was established in 1990 to alleviate congestion at Mumbai Central Station, and is where some long-distance passenger trains arrive and depart.
ゴーイーガアン駅からは近郊電車の中央鉄道ハーバー線の電車も発着します。アフメダバッド・ムンバイ本線の線路はムンバイに近づくにつれて４本から５本、６本、７本、８本へと徐々に増えていきます。
バンドラターミナル駅はムンバイ・セントラル駅の混雑緩和のために1990年に設けられたムンバイ北部のターミナル駅で、一部の長距離旅客列車が発着します。
From Mahim Junction station, the line enters Mumbai city. Mumbai is India's largest city with a population of over 12 million people. Mumbai Dadar Railway Station is the busiest suburban railway station in Mumbai and is the starting and terminating station for some long-distance trains. Dadar station also allows passengers to transfer to the Mumbai Suburban Railway's Central Line and the Indian Central Railway Line. Mumbai Central Railway Station is the terminal station for long distance trains. The Vande Bharat Express train covers the 493km distance between Ahmedabad and Mumbai Central Station in about five and a half hours, while most other express trains take about six to seven hours. Mumbai Churchgate Railway Station is the terminus of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Main Line. Only suburban trains can access this station.
マヒムジャンクション駅から路線はムンバイ市内に入ります。ムンバイは1,200万人を超える人口を抱えるインドで最大の都市です。ムンバイ・ダダール駅はムンバイの郊外鉄道で最も多く乗客が利用する駅で、一部の長距離列車の始発・終着駅になっています。また、ダダール駅では利用者はムンバイ郊外鉄道の中央線とインドの中央鉄道線に乗り換えることができます。
ムンバイ・セントラル駅は長距離列車の終点の駅です。特急列車のヴァンデ・バーラト・エクスプレスはアフメダバッドとムンバイ中央駅の間の493kmを約5時間半で、その他の多くの急行列車は約6時間から7時間で走行します。
ムンバイ・チャーチゲート駅はアフメダバッド・ムンバイ本線の終点です。この駅には郊外電車のみ乗り入れます。
