In Bangkok, the Eastern Line departs from Hua Lamphong Station, an old terminal station. The elevated line of the Airport Rail Link, which connects from Bangkok to Suvarnabhumi International Airport, runs parallel from Phaya Thai to Lat Krabang.Makkasan Station on the Eastern Line is in a different location from Makkasan Station on the Airport Rail Link, so please be careful when using it.
バンコクでは、東線は古いターミナル駅であるフアランポーン駅を発着します。パヤータイからラートクラバンまではスワンナプーム国際空港への空港連絡鉄道である エアポート・レール・リンクの高架線が並行します。東線のマッカサン駅は エアポート・レール・リンクのマッカサン駅とは位置が異なるので利用の際には注意が必要です。
Beyond Huamark, the East Line changes from single track to triple tracks. Although passenger transport is in decline on the Eastern Line, the number of tracks has been increased due to the increase in freight transport. triple tracks extend to Chachoengsao Junction Station.
フアマークから先は、東線は単線から３複線になります。東線においては旅客輸送は衰退傾向ですが、貨物輸送の増大により線路が増やされました。３複線はチャチューンサオジャンクション駅まで延びています。
At Chanchoengsao Junction, the Chuk Samet Main Line for Chon Buri, U Taphao, and Chuk Samet branches off, and for Phunom Penh go to the Aranyaprathet Main Line. The Aranyaprathet Main Line is double-tracked to Khlong Sip Kao Junction for cargo transportation. Passenger trains only run a few times a day.
From Klong Sip Kao Junction, a freight line called Phra Phuttachai Line branches off. The entire Phra Phuttachai Line is double-tracked, and there is the Phra Phuttachai Tunnel along the way. This line connects to Saraburi Station or Kaeng Khoi Junction Station on the Noetheastern Railway Line, allowing freight to be transported from the Eastern Railway Line via the Phra Phuttachai Line to Chiang Mai on the Northern Railway Line, and Ubon Ratchathani and Vientiane on the Noetheastern Railway Line.
チャンチューンサオジャンクションでは、チョンブリー、ウタパオ、チュクサメット方面へのチュクサメット本線が分岐し、プノンペン方面の列車はアランヤプラテート本線に入ります。アランヤプラテート本線では、貨物輸送のためにクロンシップカーオ・ジャンクション駅まで複線化されています。旅客列車は１日数本しか走りません。 クロンシップカーオ・ジャンクションからはプラプッタチャイ線という貨物専用の路線が分岐します。プラプッタチャイ線は全線が複線化されていて、途中にはプラプッタチャイトンネルがあります。この路線は東北本線のサラブリ駅もしくはケンコイ・ジャンクション駅へと通じていて、東本線の沿線からプラプッタチャイ線経由で北本線のチェンマイ方面、東北本線のウボンラチャタニ、ヴィエンチャン方面へ貨物輸送をすることができます。
On the other hand, the Aranyaprathet Main Line becomes a single track from Klong Sip Kao Junction Station to Phnom Penh Station.

The terminus of the Aranyaprathet Main Line is Ban Khlong Luk Border Station, and from this station to Phnom Penh Station is the Northern Line of the Royal Cambodian Railway. Only freight trains run directly to Cambodia, while passenger trains, which make two round trips, turn around at Ban Khlong Luk Border station.
As of June 2024, Cambodia Railways has not yet resumed passenger train operations from Poipet to Battambang, but a tourist train from Poipet to Phnom Penh is scheduled to begin operating using Kiha 183 diesel cars acquired from Japan's JR Hokkaido. In addition, the "Ki(キ)" in Kiha means "Kidousha(気動車=diesel car) in Japanese, and the "Ha" means the "Ha(ハ)" in the Japanese kana alphabet "Irohanihoheto"(イロハニホヘト), in which case "Ha(ハ)" is the third letter, this means it is a third class train.
アランヤプラテート本線の終点はバーンクロンルク国境駅で、この駅から先プノンペン駅まではカンボジア王立鉄道の北線となります。カンボジアへは貨物列車のみが直通し、２往復ある旅客列車はバーンクロンルク国境駅で折り返します。 カンボジア鉄道ではポイペトからバタンバンまでの区間では2024年6月現在ではまだ旅客列車の運行が再開されていませんが、日本のJR北海道から譲り受けたキハ183型気動車を用いてポイペトからプノンペンまでの観光列車が運行を開始する予定です。なお、キハの「キ」は日本語で気動車(ディーゼルカー)、「ハ」は日本語の仮名文字の並び順「イロハニホヘト」の「ハ」を意味し、この場合「ハ」は３文字目なので３等車であることを意味します。
Battambang is the third most populous city in Cambodia and was founded by the former Khmer Kingdom. Battambang is one of the leading rice producing areas and is also known as a city of art. There is only one round trip passenger train per day from Battambang to Phnom Penh. On the Cambodian railways, local residents unofficially run self-made trolleys called "norry'' by combining bamboo plates with metal bogies and mounting engines, and Battambang is home to a "norry" base. The Cambodian government is encouraging these residents to relocate to road transportation by paying compensation.
バタンバンはカンボジアで第３位の人口を有する都市で、かつてのクメール王国により建設されました。バタンバンは有数の米の生産地であり、芸術の街としても知られています。バタンバンからプノンペンまでは１日１往復のみ旅客列車が運行されています。
カンボジアの鉄道では、地元の住民が竹製の板に金属の台車を組み合わせてエンジンを搭載して自作した「ノーリー」と呼ばれるトロッコを非公式に走らせていて、バタンバンには「ノーリー」の拠点があります。カンボジア政府は、こうした住民に補償金を支払って道路交通への移転を促しています。
Cambodia's railway lines are poorly maintained, and some train loop(siding) is overgrown with vegetation and is no longer usable.
カンボジアの鉄道路線はあまり保守が行き届いておらず、列車の交換設備の中には草木で生い茂り使用できなくなっている箇所もあります。
At the east of Samrong station, there is Fork Junction where the Southern Railway Line of the Royal Cambodian Railway joins. The Southern Railway Line connects Phnom Penh with the port city of Sihanoukville.
In Phnom Penh city, the train is in an area where private houses are clustered near the eaves of the rail track. After passing the freight yard, the train arrives at its final stop, Phnom Penh Station.
