Portugal's "Linha do Norte"(Noethern Line) is a railway line that connects the large city of Porto with the capital, Lisboa(Lisbon). It is electrified with AC 25kV 50Hz, and all lines are double-tracked. The ”Alfa Pendular” express train, which uses Italy's Pendolino EMU train, runs on this railway line.
Porto is a port city in northern Portugal with a population of approximately 1.5 million people. "Alfa Pendular" departs from Porto Campanhã station. Some "Alfa Pendular" trains depart from Braga or Guimarães in northern Portugal. The "Alpha Pendular" train stops at stations marked with ★.
From Porto Campanhã Station to a location about 30km south, there are suburban railway stations approximately every 1 to 2 km. Passengers can enjoy views of the Atlantic coastline from inside the train on the section between Miramar and Espinho stations. Espinho Station is the only underground station on the "Linha do Norte".

ポルト・カンパニャン駅から南に30km程の場所までは、郊外鉄道の駅が約１～２km毎に存在します。ミラマル駅からエシュピーニョ駅までの区間では、乗客は列車の車内から大西洋の海岸線を望むことができます。エシュピーニョ駅は北線唯一の地下駅です。
After passing Valega station, the train operates at a maximum speed of 220 km//h. Aveiro station is connected by meter gauge trains.

From Coimbra-B station, a rail line branches off that continues to Coimbra station. After passing Alfareros station, the train accelerates to 200km/h.

On the section from Pombal Station to Entroncamento Station, the train enters a mountainous area and passes through two tunnels approximately 650m long.

At Entroncamento station, the line branches off to Guarda, a town in north-eastern Portugal. The station has extensive depots, yards and a freight terminal.

The section from Azambuja station to Castanheira do Ribatejo station is paralleled by a single track for freight trains. The line from Alverca Station to Lisboa is quadruple track, and many Lisbon suburban trains are in operation.
アザンブジャ駅からカスタンデイラ・ド・リバテーホ駅までの区間には、貨物列車用の単線が並行します。アルヴェルカ駅からリスボンまでは線路は複々線になり、リスボンの郊外電車が多く運転されています。
Lisboa(Lisbon) Oriente Station is the northeast terminal station of the “Linha do Norte” in Lisboa. Some “Alfa Pendular” trains run to Faro, a city in southern Portugal, via Lisboa Entrecampos station.
リスボン・オリエント駅はリスボンにおける北線の北東部のターミナル駅です。一部の「アルファ・ペンドゥラール」号はリスボン・エントゥレカンポス駅を経由してポルトガル南部の都市、ファーロまで走ります。
The terminal station of the "Linha do Norte" in Lisboa, is Lisboa(Lisbon) Santa Apolonia station. The "Alfa Pendular" train runs 336km from Porto to Lisboa in about 3 hours and 22 minutes.
リスボンにおける北線の終着駅は、リスボン・サンタ アポロニア駅です。「アルファ・ペンドゥラール」号はポルトからリスボンまでの336kmを、約3時間22分で走ります。
