The Malaysian territory of Borneo has the island's only passenger railway, the Sabah State Railway. First of all, the timetable of Sabah State Railway's passenger trains is posted below. The entire line is non-electrified, single track, and in addition to passenger trains pulled by diesel cars or diesel locomotives, the SL tourist train called "North Borneo Railway" runs on this route.
The Sabah State Railway departs from Kota Kinabalu, a city in northern Borneo. The starting point is Sembulan Station, but the actual terminal station in Kota Kinabalu is Tanjung Aru Station. Tanjung Aru Railway Station is located approximately 6 km south of downtown Kota Kinabalu and about 3 km north of Kota Kinabalu International Airport.
From Putatan Station to Kinarut Station, train passengers can enjoy views of the South China Sea coastline from inside the train.
The section from Papar Station to Beaufort Station moves away from the coastline and the train enters the inland area. Main line trains from Kota Kinabalu terminate at Beaufort Station, and George Line trains run from Beaufort to Tenom Station. Furthermore, the George Line has smaller vehicle limits than the Main Line, and smaller vehicles are used on that line. Main line trains run approximately 86km from Kota Kinabalu to Beaufort in approximately 2 hours.
From Beaufort to Tenom, the train follows a route along the Padas River.

Tenom Station is the terminus of the George Line. Tenom is famous for producing coffee, cocoa, corn and soybeans. Especially when it comes to coffee production, it is even called the "coffee capital of Sabah".
George Line trains run approximately 49km from Beaufort to Tenom in approximately 2 hours 10 to 40 minutes.
