The V-Line Albury Line in the Australian state of Victoria is a railway line that connects Albury, a city on the border of New South Wales and Victoria, with Melbourne, the capital of Victoria. The line forms part of the Sydney-Melbourne rail corridor. The long-distance express train "XPT'' runs from Sydney to Melbourne, and the V Line express train runs between Albury and Melbourne. Irish gauge (1,600mm gauge) was originally used from Albury to Seymour, but in recent years it has been changed to standard gauge (1,435mm). The 1.7km section between Albury and its twin city of Wodonga on the Victorian side is single track, but the rest of the line is double track. The Oakland Line, which branches off at Benalla, is a 1,435mm gauge freight line that transports grain. At the Seymour loop, the Irish gauge (1,600mm) Tocumwal line joins. The V-Line Shepparton Line runs from Shepparton to Melbourne via Seymour.
