The Iberian gauge (1,676mm) Mitre General Railway and the meter gauge (1,000mm) Belgrano General Railway run between Rosario, the third most populous city in Argentina, and Cordoba, the second most populous city. This page focuses on the Mitre General Railway. Córdoba is a large city located in the inland region of Argentina, and is home to the University of Córdoba, the oldest university in South America founded by the Jesuits, as well as a variety of well-developed industries, including automobiles, space-related industries, heavy chemical industry, and agricultural processing. Trains to Buenos Aires Retiro depart from Cordoba Mitre Station.
In addition to the Iberian gauge Mitre General Railway, Cordoba Station is also served by the meter gauge Belgrano General Railway, and some of the departure and arrival platforms have dual gauge rail tracks. Both railways have regional rail services, with Mitre General Railway offering two round trips per week from Cordoba to Villa Maria.
On the section from Cordoba to Rosario, trains will operate at a maximum speed of 60 km/h. This route doesn't have many curves, and most of the sections are straight, but it seems that the train is operating at a reduced speed due to the poor condition of the rail tracks.
Villa María Station is the terminus for Cordoba's regional trains, from which a branch line runs through Las Rosas and Las Parejas to Canada de Gómez Station.
From the old Tortugas station to the terminal Rosario Norte (North) station, the line becomes double-track section. The Rosario Regional Railway operates three round trips from Canada de Gómez Station to Rosario on weekdays and one round trip on Saturdays.
In Rosario, the lines from Buenos Aires and Tucumen meet, and trains arrive at Rosario Norte (North) station. The long-distance train from Cordoba to Rosario takes about 13 hours and 20 minutes to cover a distance of approximately 390 km. This long-distance train turns around at Rosario Norte (Norte) station and heads to the capital, Buenos Aires.
Finally, I would like to shou you the train timetable.
