Concepcion is a port city facing the Pacific Ocean located approximately 450 km south of Chile's capital, Santiago, with an urban population of approximately 200,000 and a metropolitan area population of approximately 1 million. The city has a railway system called "Biotren", with 3 lines running on two routes. The section where passenger trains run is electrified with 3000V DC.

　コンセプシオンはチリの首都、サンティアゴから南に約450kmの位置にある都市人口約20万人、都市圏人口約100万人の太平洋に面する港湾都市です。この都市にはビオトレンという鉄道システムがあり、2つのルートに３系統の電車が走ります。旅客列車の走る区間は直流3000Vで電化されています。

Biotren Line 1 runs from Talcahuano to Hualqui via Concepción and Chiguayante. There is a double track section from El Arenal station to La Leonera station.

　ビオトレン１号線はタルカワーノからコンセプシオン、チグアヤンテを経由してハルキまでを結ぶ路線です。エル・アレナル駅からラ・レオネラ駅までは複線化されています。

Biotren Line 3 is a planned railway line that will connect Concepción to Lirquen via Penco. Currently, freight trains are running to Puerto(Port) Lirquen.

　ビオトレン３号線はコンセプシオンからペンコを経由してリンケンまでを結ぶことが計画されている鉄道路線です。現在はリンケン港へ向かう貨物列車が走っています。

Biotren Line 2 is a line that runs from Concepcion, crosses the Biobio River(Rio BioBío), and runs south along the Pacific Ocean to Coronel.
The BioBío River Railway Bridge is the oldest of the four bridges spanning the Bío Bío River in Concepción, and due to its deterioration, a new bridge is being constructed with the aim of completion in 2025. There is a single track from Concepción Station to the west bank of the BioBío River Railway Bridge, but otherwise it is double track.
A freight line extends from Coronel Station to Horcones, and there are plans to extend the Line 2 from Coronel Station to Lota.

　ビオトレン２号線はコンセプシオンからビオビオ川を渡り、太平洋に沿って南下してコロネルまでを結ぶ路線です。
　ビオビオ川の鉄道橋はコンセプシオンにおけるビオビオ川にかかる４つの橋のなかで一番古い橋で、老朽化のため2025年完成を目指して新しい橋が建設されています。コンセプシオン駅からビオビオ川鉄道橋の西岸までは単線ですが、それ以外は複線になっています。
　コロネル駅から先はホルコネスまで貨物線が伸びていて、このうちコロネル駅からロタまで２号線を延伸する計画があります。

The Talcahuano-Raja Railway follows the same route as short-distance train "Line 1" from Talcahuano Station to Hualqui Station, and from Hualqui Station it runs along the Biobio River to San Rosendo Station and Laja Station, which connect with the Longitudinal Sur (Southern Transversal Railway). The train takes about 2 hours and 10 minutes to cover the 87 km distance from Talcahuano to Laja. There are plans to extend the line eastward from Laja Station to Los Angeles, the capital of Biobio state.

 　タルカワーノ・ラジャ鉄道は、タルカワーノ駅からハルキ駅までは短距離電車の１号線と同じルートを通り、ハルキ駅から先はビオビオ川に沿うルートで南部縦断鉄道と接続するサンロレンド駅とラジャ駅に至る路線です。タルカワーノからラジャまでの約87kmの区間を電車は約2時間10分で走行します。ラジャ駅から東へ、ビオビオ州の州都であるロサンゼルスへ延伸する計画があります。
