In Quebec City, trains arrive and depart from a terminal station called Palais Station. VIA Rail does not own the track from Quebec City to Montreal, but runs on the tracks of the freight rail company CN (Canadian National) Railway..
The section from Quebec City to Charny Station is part of the CN Railway Bridge subdivision. Sainte-Foy station is also a stop for the Ocean, a long-distance overnight train that connects Montreal to Halifax, a city in eastern Canada. The Ocean train turns around at Sainte-Foy Station and continues on the CN Railway's Montagny Subdivision towards Halifax.
After leaving Sainte-Foy station, the train crosses a railway bridge over the St. Lawrence River. The St. Lawrence River connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes via Montreal, making it an important transportation route for ships.

The Corridor, which runs from Quebec City to Montreal, runs five round trips a day, with some trains turning back at Gare de Montréal Central and heading to Ottawa or Toronto.
