The East Coast Main Line(ECML) is one of the two main railway lines in Great Britain, along with the West Coast Main Line(WCML), and connects 632.7 km from London King's Cross Station to Edinburgh Waverley Station. The WCML runs from London to Edinburgh via Birmingham and Wigan, while the ECML runs via Doncaster, York and Newcastle upon Tyne.
All lines are double-tracked and electrified (AC 25kv 50hz), and trains can run at a maximum speed of 125 mph (200 km/h) in sections where there are no speed limits due to curves. The train travels 329km from London to York in about 1 hour and 50 minutes.

La Línea Principal de la Costa Este (ECML) es una de las dos principales líneas ferroviarias de Gran Bretaña, junto con la Línea Principal de la Costa Oeste (WCML), y conecta 632,7 km desde la estación Londres King's Cross con la estación Edimburgo Waverley. La WCML va de Londres a Edimburgo vía Birmingham y Wigan, mientras que la ECML pasa por Doncaster, York y Newcastle upon Tyne.
