Suphanburi is a city located approximately 120km northwest of the capital Bangkok. Suphanburi is an ancient Sanskrit word meaning "city of gold". This area is a historic area with ancient ruins, and is also famous for being the site of a battle with neighboring Burma(Myammer). The capital of Suphanburi Province is Muang Suphanburi District, a city with a population of approximately 160,000 people, and trains on the Suphanburi Line arrive and depart from Suphanburi Station in Muang Suphanburi District.
スパンブリーは首都バンコクから北西に約120kmの場所に位置する都市です。スパンブリーとは、古代のサンスクリット語で「黄金の都市」を意味する単語です。この地域は古代遺跡も残る歴史ある地域で、かつて隣国のビルマ(ミャンマー)と戦いを繰り広げた場所としても有名です。スパンブリー県の県庁所在地はムアンスパンブリー郡という人口約16万人の都市で、スパンブリー線の列車はムアンスパンブリー郡にあるスパンブリー駅を発着します。
Suphanburi es una ciudad situada aproximadamente a 120 kilómetros al noroeste de la capital, Bangkok. Suphanburi es una antigua palabra sánscrita que significa "ciudad de oro". Esta zona es una zona histórica con ruinas antiguas y también es famosa por ser el lugar de una batalla con la vecina Birmania (Myammer).
素攀武里 是位於 首都曼谷西北方約120公里的城市。 素攀武里 是一個古老的梵語詞，意思是「黃金之城」。該地區是一個歷史悠久的地區，擁有古老的遺跡，也因與鄰國 緬甸（Myammer）的戰鬥地點而聞名。素攀武里府的首府是 Muang Suphanburi區，人口約16萬的城市，素攀武里線的火車從Muang Suphanburi區的 素攀武里車站出發。

The Suphanburi Line is an approximately 80km railway line that connects Suphanburi Station to Nong Praduk Station, which connects to the Southern Line. This line was originally planned as a railway line connecting Nong Praduk Station via Suphanburi Station to Lopburi Station on the Northern Line, and once the entire line was completed, freight trains from northern Thailand would be able to reach southern Thailand without going through Bangkok. However, construction was halted midway due to profitability issues.
Currently, a regular local train runs from Bangkok's Hua Lamphong Station to Nong Phra Duk Station, but the train is extended from Nong Phra Duk Station to Suphanburi Station one day a week. Therefore, passenger trains only operate once a week. This line has sidings only at its starting points, Nong Praduk station, and its ending points, Suphanburi station, and is a single closed section with no loops at other stations.
Malaimen Station, located on the north side of Suphan Buri, is a station that passengers must declare when boarding the train, and some information indicates that it is an unofficial station (however, there is a station sign). This is similar to the flag stop system used on the "Sunset Limited" in the United States and "The Canadian" in Canada. For trains to Bangkok, the train departs from Suphanburi Station and then stops at Malaimen Station before continuing on its way to Bangkok.
スパンブリー線はスパンブリー駅から、南本線と接続するノンプラドゥック駅までを結ぶ約80kmの鉄道路線です。この路線は当初ノンプラドゥック駅からスパンブリー駅を経由して北本線のロッブリー駅までを結ぶ鉄道路線として計画され、全線が完成するとタイ北部からの貨物列車がバンコクを経由せずにタイ南部まで運行される予定でした。しかし、採算性が問題となり建設は途中で中止されてしまいました。
現在はバンコクのフアランポーン駅からノンプラドゥック駅までを結ぶ１往復の普通列車に対し、週に１日だけノンプラドゥック駅からスパンブリー駅まで延長する形で列車が運行されています。従って旅客列車は週に1往復のみ運行されています。この路線は起点のノンプラドゥック駅とスパンブリー駅にのみ側線があり、その他の駅には行き違い設備のない単一の閉塞区間となっています。
なお、スパンブリーの北側にあるマライメン駅は列車の乗車時に申告することで向かう駅で、一部情報では非公式な駅とされています(但し、駅の看板は存在します)。これはアメリカ合衆国の「サンセット・リミテッド号」やカナダの「ザ・カナディアン号」等で採用されているフラグストップの方式と同様です。バンコク行きの列車に関しては、スパンブリー駅を出発してからマライメン駅に立ち寄った後、列車はバンコクへ向けて走行します。
La línea Suphanburi es una línea ferroviaria de aproximadamente 80 km que conecta la estación Suphanburi con la estación Nong Praduk, que conecta con la Línea Sur. Esta línea se planeó originalmente como una línea ferroviaria que conectaba la estación Nong Praduk a través de la estación Suphanburi con la estación Lopburi en la Línea Norte, y una vez que se completara toda la línea, los trenes de carga del norte de Tailandia podrían llegar al sur de Tailandia sin pasar por Bangkok. 素攀武里線 是一條全長約80公里的鐵路線，連接 素攀武里站 和 農普拉杜克站，後者與 南線相連。這條路線原規劃為一條連接 農普拉杜克站 經 素攀武里站 至北線 華富里站的鐵路線，一旦全線建成，泰國北部的貨運列車將無需經過曼谷 即可到達泰國南部。但由於獲利問題，建設中途停頓。
目前，有一班定期本地列車從 曼谷華喃峰站開往 農普拉杜克站，但列車每週有一天從 農普拉杜克站 延長至 素攀武里站。因此，客運列車每週僅運行一趟。該線路僅在起點 農普拉杜克站 和 終點 素攀武里站設有側線，並且是單一封閉路段，在其他車站沒有側線。
Malaimen車站，位於 素攀武里北側，是乘客上車時必須申報的車站，有資料顯示這是一個非官方車站（不過有車站標誌）。這類似於 美國的“Sunset Limited”和 加拿大的“The Canadian”上使用的旗停系統。對於前往曼谷的火車，火車從 素攀武里站出發，然後在 Malaimen 站停靠，然後繼續前往曼谷。
