Richmond is the capital of Virginia and is a city with thriving tobacco, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries located about 95 miles (150 km) south of the capital, Washington, D.C. The city is the starting point of CSX Railroad Line A, which runs south to Florida, and is served by Amtrak's Southeast Corridor trains.

Richmond has two train stations: Main Street and Staples Mill Road. Passenger trains once ran from the Main Street station, but after flooding and economic decline in downtown Richmond, all trains except for the Main Street-bound and Newport News-bound "Northeast Regional" were redirected to the suburban Staples Mill Road station.

The government is currently moving forward with the Southeast High Speed ​​Rail Corridor (SEHSR) project, which plans to move trains back from Staples Mill Road station to Main Street station in the future.

South of Petersburg is a junction for the line to Norfolk, a port city on the Atlantic Ocean. Also, south of this junction is Collier Yard, which was once a junction with the CSX S line. There are plans to restore the abandoned S line, making it possible to travel between Richmond and Raleigh in about two hours.

Richmond, capital de Virginia, es una ciudad con prósperas industrias tabacalera, farmacéutica y química, ubicada a unos 150 km (95 millas) al sur de la capital, Washington, D.C. La ciudad es el punto de partida de la Línea A del Ferrocarril CSX, que corre hacia el sur hasta Florida y cuenta con el servicio de los trenes del Corredor Sudeste de Amtrak.

Selma Station is located at the junction of the CSX A line and the Norfolk Southern NC line. The Carolinian, which runs from the northeastern United States to Charlotte, and the Floridian, which runs from Chicago to Miami, currently run on the CSX A line to Selma Station, but will be redirected to the S line when the CSX S line is completed.

La estación Selma se encuentra en la intersección de la línea A de CSX y la línea Norfolk Southern NC. El Carolinian, que va del noreste de Estados Unidos a Charlotte, y el Floridian, que va de Chicago a Miami, circulan actualmente por la línea A de CSX hasta la estación Selma, pero serán redirigidos a la línea S cuando se complete la línea S de CSX.

Savannah is a city in southeastern Georgia. The "Palmetto", a daytime train from New York, terminates at this station. Also, the CSX S line, which branches off at Petersburg, rejoins the A line, and the "Floridian" rejoins the A line.

The train travels about 500 miles (about 800 km) from Richmond to Savannah at a maximum speed of 79 mph (127 km/h), taking about 9 hours.

Savannah es una ciudad del sureste de Georgia. El tren diurno "Palmetto" procedente de Nueva York termina en esta estación. Además, la línea S de CSX, que se bifurca en Petersburg, se une a la línea A, y el tren "Floridian" también se une a ella.
