Taiwan's Western Trunk is a railway line that connects Keelung, a port city in northern Taiwan, to Kaohsiung, a metropolis in southern Taiwan. The Taiwan High Speed ​​Rail has opened parallel to this line, and many long-distance passengers flow there. However, the number of limited express trains and local trains is increasing year by year.

In Taoyuan City, located in the western part of the Taipei metropolitan area, there are plans to construct triple-track, which is expected to improve train speeds, especially during rush hours.

　台灣の西部幹線は、台湾北部の港湾都市である基隆から、台湾南部の大都市である高雄までを結ぶ鉄道路線です。台湾高速鉄道がこの路線に並行して開業しており、長距離旅客の多くがそちらに流れています。しかし、特急列車の「自強號」と、「区間車」と呼ばれるローカル列車の運転本数が年々増加しています。
　台北都市圏の西部、桃園市内では線路の３線化工事が計画されており、これが実現すると特に通勤ラッシュ時の列車の速度が向上することが見込まれています。


La Línea Troncal Occidental de Taiwán es una línea ferroviaria que conecta Keelung, una ciudad portuaria en el norte de Taiwán, con Kaohsiung, una metrópoli en el sur de Taiwán. El tren de alta velocidad de Taiwán se ha abierto paralelamente a esta línea y muchos pasajeros de larga distancia fluyen allí. Hsinchu City is known as Taiwan's Silicon Valley and is home to many IT-related companies, and is also famous for its strong seasonal winds. The retro station building at Hsinchu Station is still in use today.

The Taiwan High Speed ​​Rail station is located in Liujia, which is far from the city center, and the Taiwan Railway's Liujia Line connects Hsinchu and Liujia, with four-car EMUs running. On the other hand, the Neiwan Line is a non-electrified line and is run by diesel cars.

South of Zhunan Station, the line branches into the Mountain Line (Taichung Line) and the Sea Line (Coast Line). The current main route is the Mountain Line, but there are also trains that run via the Sea Line. Please note that there are single-track sections on the Sea line.

　新竹市は台湾のシリコンバレーとして知られるIT関連企業の集積する都市で、季節風が強いことでも有名です。新竹駅にはレトロな駅舎が現在も使用されています。
　台湾高速鉄道の駅は市の中心部から離れた六家にあり、台湾鉄道の六家線が新竹と六家の間を結んでいて、４両編成の電車が走ります。一方、内湾線は非電化路線でディーゼルカーが走ります。
　竹南駅から南側では路線は山線(台中線)と海線(海岸線)に分岐します。現在のメインルートは山線ですが、海線を経由して走行する列車も存在します。なお、海線には単線区間が存在します。

La ciudad de Hsinchu es conocida como el Silicon Valley de Taiwán y es hogar de muchas empresas relacionadas con TI, y también es famosa por sus fuertes vientos estacionales. El edificio retro de la estación de Hsinchu todavía está en uso hoy.

La estación del tren de alta velocidad de Taiwán está ubicada en Liujia, que está lejos del centro de la ciudad, y la línea Liujia del ferrocarril de Taiwán conecta Hsinchu y Liujia, con EMU de cuatro vagones en funcionamiento. The Mountain Line rail track in Taichung City is elevated. Some Mountain Line trains in the Taichung metropolitan area run directly from Chenggong Station to the Sea Line via the Chengzhui Line(成追線).

The fastest type of express train, the Puyuma train, travels 165km from Taipei to Taichung in about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

　山線の台中市内の線路は高架化されています。台中都市圏の山線の電車の一部は、成功駅から成追線を経由して海線に直通します。
　一番速いタイプの特急列車「普悠瑪(プユマ)号」は、台北から台中までの165kmを約1時間40分で走行します。

La vía del tren Mountain Line en la ciudad de Taichung está elevada. Algunos trenes de Mountain Line en el área metropolitana de Taichung van directamente desde la estación Chenggong hasta la Sea Line a través de la línea Chengzhui (成追線).

El tipo de tren expreso más rápido, el tren Puyuma, recorre 165 km de Taipei a Taichung en aproximadamente 1 hora y 40 minutos.
