Sarina is a town with a population of 5,619 (2021). Australia's second largest export coal terminal, Hay Point, is located near the town. The Goonyella line, a freight line from Hay Point, joins at Yukan Junction. This line is a 217km coal transport line that connects Haypoint and North Goonyella Mine.This line is electrified with AC 25kv50hz, and the 174km from Haypoint to Wotonga is double tracked. Inside Rockhampton city, the North Coast Line tracks join the road at Denison Street. Along this combined track, there is a museum called the Archer Park Rail Museum, where the steam tram is preserved and operated. Rockhampton Station is a hub station 638km north of Brisbane and is the terminus of the Electric Tilt Train from Brisbane. The line from Rockhampton to Brisbane to the south is electrified with AC 25kv 50hz. The station has a large area of land that was once used as a depot and yard, but some areas are vacant, and the City of Rockhampton is about to begin a redevelopment plan in front of the station. Rockhampton is a city with a population of 79,293 (2021) and is home to many historic buildings, including the Criterion Hotel. The city is also known for its thriving beef trade.
