This is the train timetable from Vancouver, BC to Seattle. In addition to the "Cascades", this section also runs the "Empire Builder" , a long-distance train that connects Seattle and Chicago via Everett, Spokane, and St. Paul, and the "Sounder", a commuter train that connects Seattle to Everett. "Cascades" runs two round trips between Seattle and Vancouver, BC, including one round trip south from Seattle to Portland, OR. The "Cascades" train between Seattle and Vancouver, BC takes approximately 4 hours and 25 minutes downbound, and 4 hours upbound .Buses connect this section in about 3 hours and 15 minutes to about 4 hours, so I wish the trains would make a little more effort.
こちらはヴァンクーヴァーからシアトルまでの鉄道の時刻表です。この区間では「カスケーズ」の他に、シアトルとシカゴをエヴァレット、スポーカン、セントポール経由で結ぶ長距離列車「エンパイアー・ビルダー」号と、シアトルからエヴァレットまでを結ぶ通勤鉄道の「サウンダー」が走ります。「カスケーズ」はシアトル～ヴァンクーヴァー間では２往復走っており、このうち１往復はシアトルから南へポートランドまで走ります。シアトル～ヴァンクーヴァー間の所要時間は「カスケーズ」で南行は約４時間２５分、北行は約４時間かかります。バスはこの区間を約３時間１５分から約４時間で結ぶので、鉄道はもう少し頑張ってほしいところです。
In Vancouver, trains depart from Vancouver Pacific Central Station. This station also serves Canada’s VIA Railway’s “The Canadian” train to Toronto. The “Rocky Mountaineer” Railway, Canada’s tourist railway, and the “West Coast Express”, Vancouver’s commuter railway, depart from and arrive at different stations. The train crosses the Fraser River through the New Westminster Bridge and runs on the New Westminster Subdivision of BNSF Railroad. On the other hand, after crossing the bridge, “The Canadian” train turns left and enters the CN Railway tracks.

列車はフレーザー川をニュー・ウェストミンスター橋を通って渡り、BNSF鉄道のニューウェストミンスター・サブディビジョンを走ります。一方で、「ザ・カナディアン」号は橋を渡り終えると左に曲がり、CN鉄道の線路に入ります。
ブレインでカナダからアメリカ合衆国に入り、BNSF鉄道のウェストミンスター サブディビジョンは べリングハム サブディビジョンと名前を変えます。べリングハム湾の海を臨みながら列車は走ります。
From Bow, the train enters the inland area. Burlington is where the BNSF Sumas subdivision of another Seattle-to-Canada rail route joins. In Everett, there are two routes: the BNSF Bayside Main Line, which goes through the port, and the BNSF Scenic Subdivision via Everett station.The "Cascades" train goes through the Everett Station. From Everett Station, the train enters the BNSF Railroad Scenic Subdivision and Amtrak's "Empire Builder"train from Chicago joins. Everett Station is also the starting station for the "Sounder" commuter rail N line.
BOW ボウからは列車は内陸部に入ります。バーリントンではもう１つのシアトルからカナダへの鉄道ルートのBNSF スーマス サブディビジョンが合流します。エヴァレットでは港を経由するベイサイドメイン線と、エヴァレット駅を経由するBNSFシーニック サブディビジョンの２つのルートがあり、「カスケーズ」号はエヴァレット駅を経由します。なお、エヴァレット駅からはBNSF鉄道シーニック サブディビジョンに入り、アムトラック「エンパイアー・ビルダー」が合流します。また、エヴァレット駅は通勤鉄道「サウンダー」のＮ線の始発駅です。
Mukilteo Station has a freight branch line that connects to the Boeing Everett Factory. Boeing is a major aircraft manufacturer. The Everett Factory used to manufacture the Boeing 747, and is currently the manufacturing base for the large aircraft Boeing 777.
ムキルテオ駅には、大手航空機製造メーカーのボーイングのエヴァレット工場へと続く貨物支線があります。エヴァレット工場ではかつてはボーイング747が製造されていて、現在も大型機のボーイング777の製造拠点となっています。なお、ムキルテオ駅は「サウンダー」通勤鉄道のみ停車します

The railroad line from Everett to Seattle is adjacent to the coastline and is often damaged by wave erosion, resulting in suspension of service. Trains cannot operate at high speeds in this section.
After crossing the Salmon Bay Bridge, the train enters the city of Seattle, and after passing a freight yard, it enters the Great Northern Tunnel. When the train exits this tunnel, it arrives at Seattle King Street Station.
エヴァレットからシアトルまでの線路は海岸線に隣接しており、たびたび波に浸食される被害を受け、運休となることがあります。列車はこの区間ではあまり速度を上げて運行することができません。
サーモン湾の橋を越えると列車はシアトルの街に入り、貨物ヤードを過ぎると グレートノーザントンネルに入ります。このトンネルを出ると、シアトル・キングストリート駅に到着します。
